The Last man on earth is not alone - I AM LEGEND

Well after being shelved fora long time, I am Legend will now star Will Smith as Robert Neville(originally was supposed to be Arnold Swarzheneger but production waited too long and Arnie was elected Governor) as the last man on Earth. Hhmm last man on earth doesnt really mean he's alone. he co-habitates with beings that cannot withstand sunlight: vampires!! haha well i never saw this one coming. It had a lot of commonalities with 28 weeks later(they had zombies instead of vampires). It is an adaptation of Richard Matheson's novel and has been translated into movies four times: The Last an on earth, The Omega Man, Iam Omega and I am Legend. I am Omega came out on dvd one month before I am Legend.

Balls of Fury - PingPang!!!

Balls Of Fury is a story of a has been child PingPong("PingPang" - Christopher Walken) sports star Randy Daytona. The FBI asks him for help by infiltrating the triad as a competitor in the PingPang competition being held by triad leader Feng(That's F-E-N-G, seriously, he doesnt like it mispronounced) Soon he realizes that he is rusty at the sport and requires the help of a blind PingPang master who happens to have a really hot niece. I know i know i always have to show you the girl. Its getting to be a habit of mine. So here she is, Maggie.

Sigh. Yummy. anyways, Christopher Walken dresses up like a woman in this one. Its a trend. Sort of like John Travolta in Hairspray. I like that movie by the way. Hey well they have a good soundtrack at least. ROCK ON!!!

NACHO LIBRE!!!

Well this is Jack Black so you can just about expect as much comical anarchy in this movie. He has this funny accent and its obvious that he is supposed to do it bad grammar. anyway, its good entertainment. its not his funniest though. It didn't compel me to buy the dvd version. School of Rock on the other hand, now thats a good Jack Black movie. I don't know who directed it but the acting seems awkward. Maybe its part of the act. But if you look at the picture you will see why its worth watching it. I guess she sort of balances the movie. Ana De La Reguera, Praise The Lord!! Wow!! You should watch out for her in Así del precipicio.

So here it comes: Nacho Libre is the story of a friar who dreams of being a wrestler but realizes that he sucks at it when he competes. He meets Sister Encarnacion and he is enamored by this virginal beauty. He tries to win her heart and support the Church's orphanage by competing as wrestler 'Nacho Libre'. Loosely based on the story of Fray Tormenta ("Friar Storm"), aka Rev. Sergio Gutierrez Benitez, a real-life Mexican Catholic priest who had a 23-year career as a masked luchador.

Heroes: "im Back!" - Sylar

Well after a long rest from the award winning tv show, i was finally able to catch up to its latest episodes. It proves to be exciting. I cant wait to see what they have for the 3rd season. With Peter gaining control of his abilities and Matt learning how to control people's mind, i wanna see how they are going to try and match Sylar's powers. I hate to be a spoiler to those who havent seen it but it saddens me that Nathan is dead. Well he was shot. Who knows. Its like anyone can come back from the dead in this show. Lets wait and see. Again, i would like to reach out to the WGA and the Hollywood people there to patch things up already so i can watch my shows. Heroes was cut short also because of the ongoing strike by the writer's guild of America. It was supposed to run 24 episodes but final production came up with 11 instead. I hate this!! The next few years seemed to be promising with the new lineup of movies that they had. Well that was until the strike.. hhmmm.. maybe i shouldn't be selfish.. but, i am selfish and i want my tv shows back hehe..



Anyway for those who don't know 'Heroes' is a show about a group of normal individuals who developed powers(something that had to do with the evolution of man) and how they used it to saved humankind from impending disasters. If you follow the series, you might get confused if they are really trying to save people. Well this show had a lot of following including me. You should check it out sometime.(Yes, you!! assuming someone bothers to read this damn thing.)

prisonbreak - season 3

Well i am and have been the biggest fan of prisonbreak since that one stormy night(i couldn't sleep) and i was able to just sit down from 9pm to 5am watching the first season. i want able to finish the whole thing but it was so addicting that i actually didn't notice the time and the storm that was raging outside my window. It was very interesting to meet each character and unfold the plot per episode(later i learned that the tattoo in the protagonist's body was actually the map and plan). Prisonbreak is the story of a Lincoln, a man sentenced to die for a crime he did not commit, and his brother Michael who intends to break him out of jail before the sentence. Its all an elaborate plan if you will actually inspect Michael's tattoo. He planned everything to the smallest detail that he even knows the kind of bolt and screws that the prison used in the structure. but you wont know that till you watch it. The series progressed to its 3rd season and will be returning on January for installments of future episodes. I hope it doesn't get affected by the WGA strike. I am so hoping for the second season of 'Burn Notice" so please Hollywood execs fix the damn thing already. As we all know a lot of TV shows and movies are canceled or discontinued because of the strike. I hope the Justice league movie still pushes through. sigh... im like begging here .. anyway, I cant wait for January. i just finished watching episode 8.. i'll let you know what comes up though. Don't worry, no spoilers.. (",)

300 - 2nd Best movie of 2007(next to Transformers)

Well i actually had a hard time picking which is best. I always tell my friends that Transformers is the best movie of 2007 for me because i always thought i saw 300 last December 2006. Until i was corrected of my mistake. I dont know why. Well 300 was packed with action, lots of nudity(female nudity, i had to clarify because there was also a lot of male nudity in the movie), and stunning visual effects. what more can you ask for? A lot of people said that there was a big hostorical innacuracy in the way the movie was depicted. WHO CARES!! The movie was well choreographed(fight scenes) and effects were incredible. They shot everything on blue screen. how cool is that? The movie was so good that it generated a lot of spoofs everywhere. haha theyre even making a 'National Lampoon's 301: The Legend of Awesomest Maximus Wallace Leonidas' movie. well i have no info about that movie but its a rumor.


PLOT:King Leonidas protects Sparta at the famous battle of Thermopylae with his 300 brave soldiers against the invading Xerxes of Persia and his millions of armies.

SUNSHINE

I expected too much for this movie. A long time ago when i first saw the trailer, i was attracted to the plot of a team of scientists saving the world by reigniting the dying sun. I thought, "this would actually be a cool movie!" i mean, how would you you reignite the sun? When i saw Chris Evans in the movie i thought he was going to flame on and use his super nova fire on the sun or something. hehe But they used nuclear bombs instead. Scientists said that they would need billions more of nuclear bombs to actually reignite the sun. I think it doesnt matter cuz 99% of the population are not scientists so no one would actually know. no one would care. I wont.

The plot was okay. it felt like it dragged a little. When the movie was rated, it received a lot of 6 out of 10s. i wouldve given it the same. Lots of hype but they didnt live up to it. I like Danny boyle's previous works but this one (im not saying its bad) is something im not crazy about. They have a mix of international cast, with japanese and Chinese top notch stars. I actually liked Hiroyuki Sanada in Twilight Samurai. And Michelle Yeoh, well everyone loves her. They picked Chinese and Japanese for a cast because 50 years from now they would be one of the leading countries in space exploration and technology. Brazil and India should be in there also but the director didnt want too much diversity.
